Course Overview

The success of construction projects depends on how well the uncertainties on the project is managed. Risks in construction projects are the greatest at the earliest stages of the project, and these risks need to be managed throughout the project through the implementation of sound business and construction practices. The value of managing these risks depends on the success achieved with the pro-active efforts to minimize the negative impacts of threats and to maximize the positive impacts of opportunities. The typical steps of planning for risk management, identifying risks, conducting a risk analysis, and planning the appropriate risk responses are of little value if the selected responses are not implemented and monitored throughout the project life-cycle. The course is developed to cater for the needs of the construction professional in South Africa.

The course was well structured, well organized. In particular, all the information was communicated in a clear, simple and intuitive way. I want to underline the excellent service offered by Verochka, impeccable

So far so good. I have take two courses and I have liked them. Dave is good and know his thing, every question asked to him was responded accurately and with no hesitation

Dave is an excellent and knowledgeable instructor. Advance Risk Management is a field that is rapidly growing in significance with today’s global instability across multiple industries. I wanted to learn and become more knowledgeable in starting up a Risk Mgmt Plan for my project. I greatly appreciated how Dave helped through his material showed his students a viable approach and parameters to utilize for proper risk adherence. Having templates and perhaps other links to risk resources that we can later access would be greatly appreciated as professionals. I’m hoping to use this material to create a risk process flow diagram for setting up and then evaluating project risk elements. I appreciate that this course isn’t simply a listen and learn. Students are asked to participate and engage with the instructor and the other members of the class. I greatly appreciate this approach and feel I am able to get more retention of the material as well as receive more for my investment of my time and money.

Happy with the course!
